This easy guide is an attempt to bring into focus, by way of a quick reference guide, the several pronouncements of the Supreme Court of Nigeria; on Judicial Precedent otherwise referred to as stare decisis. Judicial Precedent constitutes an important factor in the determination of cases by courts subordinate to the Supreme Court. This is to ensure a measure of certainty in the Law. The pronouncements are no doubt authoritative, coming from Nigeria’s highest Court and no Subordinate Court nor Legal Practitioner can afford not to treat such pronouncements with levity.
